Prescription Clerk

An opportunity has arisen with Chelmer Medical Partnership in Chelmsford, for an experienced, part-time experienced prescription clerk, to work 20 hours per week to join our friendly prescription team. This key role will be based at Humber Road surgery and is responsible for managing and processing prescriptions for patients in a timely manner. 

The main duties include:

• Ensuring a safe and efficient operation by processing repeat prescriptions via email, online or in person. 
• Liaising with our GPs, clinical pharmacists, and community pharmacies regarding queries and requests. 
• Managing enquiries from patients. 
• Providing patient education and advice where appropriate.

The successful applicant will need to be flexible to work extra hours covering colleague’s sickness and holiday absence.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

• Previous experience working within a similar role.
• Experience of working in a busy, public environment.
• Excellent telephone manner.
• Good IT skills. 
• Be flexible, with a positive attitude.
• Demonstrate good team working and communication skills.
• Demonstrate an excellent standard of patient care. 
• General practice experience and knowledge of SystmOne essential.
