About the Role

Are you a GP who has passion, drive, integrity & initiative? Are you a newly qualified or an experienced GP looking for an opportunity to join a friendly & supportive practice?

Vida Healthcare is looking for a salaried GP to join their PCN, covering up to 8 sessions a week, although this is negotiable. You would be responsible for your own administrative work & helping support others when they are on leave. You would be invited to attend team meetings.

We can offer you medical indemnity, six weeks of annual leave & one week of study leave per year.  We are more than happy to mentor recently qualified GPs, building your confidence. Those pursuing new skills are welcomed.

The main responsibilities of the role:
  • Face to face consultations, telephone consultations, home visits as required, assist staff & patients with clinical or prescribing queries, checking & signing repeat prescriptions, managing investigation results, completing paperwork & correspondence in a timely fashion
  • Participate in activities required to assess compliance with the CQC Fundamental Standards
  • Provide any services as required for the PCN agreement
  • Respond to medical/health problems presented by patients on the Practice register, including history taking, diagnosis, investigation, treatment &referral as appropriate.
  • Read and interpret test requests & results ordered, taking appropriate action based on the findings.
  • Maintain clinical records in line with professional code & requirements.

About the Candidate
All applicants should have the following qualifications:
  • Medical Degree
  • GMC registered.
  • Certificate of completion of training
  • Registered under the primary medical performers' list.
and skills, including:
  • Good understanding and experience of chronic disease management, and primary prevention and screening services;
  • Ability to take responsibility for your own career development, learning and performance and are responsible for ensuring that all your mandatory training is in date;
  • Awareness of and compliance with all relevant practice policies and guidelines, e.g. prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health and safety;
  • Commitment to life-long learning and audit to ensure evidence-based best practice;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in a confidential manner.
