About the Role
Southend Medical Centre are looking to recruit an experienced locum advanced nurse practitioner to support the clinical team in delivering outstanding patient care. This is a part-time role working 0830-1830 on a Monday and Friday, and possibly can become a long term position.
 

The main responsibilities of the role include:

  • Deliver a high standard of patient care, using advanced autonomous clinical skills, and a broad and in-depth theoretical knowledge base.
  • Assess, diagnose and treat patients’ conditions, initiating direct referrals as appropriate.
  • As an independent prescriber, prescribe safe, effective and appropriate medication as defined by current legislative frame work. 
  • As a vital part of our multidisciplinary team, you will have the opportunity to support and care for a diverse patient group.
Whether you have already developed a specific specialty or have an interest in doing so, we will support your ongoing career and training development.
About the Candidate

Essential qualifications, skills and experience required:

  • Experienced in primary care and understand the role on ANP in general practice.
  • Registered general practice nurse (currently registered with the NMC).
  • Hold a recognised ANP qualification at Masters level and work as an independent nurse prescriber.
  • Work with a high degree of autonomy and be confident in leading in a variety of settings.
  • Forward thinking and strive to develop innovative ideas and new ways of working, that address the health needs of the practice, whilst motivating and encouraging others to do the same.
  • Excellent communicator and collaborator, you will embrace opportunities to work and liaise across multi-professional and agency boundaries in the interests of improving patient outcomes.
  • In addition to your highly developed clinical skills, your approach in the role will be consistently compassionate and respectful placing a high value on the dignity of patients, relatives, carers and colleagues.
