Cobbs Garden Surgery is a traditional, family-doctor service with a strong culture of teamwork. We are a tight-knit team who are very supportive of each other. We value input and suggestions from any members of our team with the view to making changes for the future development of the practice.
We are looking to welcome a GP who shares these values to join our team in either a salaried role or with a view to partnership for which development support will be provided. Flexible to hours, we are happy to offer full-time or part-time options. We value each one of our members of staff, seeing them as an integral part of a team helping to share the future of the practice and the care we provide.
We aim to create a positive working environment for all our staff and have the following benefits:
- Support to become a GP partner with mentoring from the partners.
A comprehensive, 6-week induction including:
- Increased appointment times initially while you learn the practice systems and referral pathways which will then reduce to 15 then to 10 minutes. The practice works on 10-minute slots but aims to increase this to 15 minutes in the future.
- Spending time with each of the practice staff to learn how the practice and system works to learn how to fit in.A buddy system whereby you will be linked in with a senior GP at the practice with protected time booked out of your rotas for regular mentoring/de-briefing meetings. Linking you in with the active Milton Keynes GP forum who hold regular learning sessions and meetings.
- The opportunity to design your own sessions – allowing you the flexibility to chose when your admin time is booked.
- 6 weeks' annual leave and 1 week’s study leave (whole time equivalent) pro rata if part time.
- Opportunities to be involved in the development of new services at the practice. We are planning on building a new and much larger surgery on a plot we have secured which will allow us to provide an increased number of services including outreach consultant clinics which the successful candidate will have the opportunity to shape.
- Opportunities for developing a specialist interest.
- We believe ongoing training is vital and encourage staff development and as such we are building links with our local universities to help train our staff as well as to offer student placements which would offer the opportunity to develop your supervision and teaching skills is this is an area of interest.
- We are shortly about to become a GP Training Practice and are in discussion with the nearby Buckingham Medical School about accepting medical students.
- We have free staff parking.
- We have a staff discount scheme that can be used for household purchases, holidays etc
As a practice, we maintain a close partnership with the Bedfordshire, Luton, and Milton Keynes Training Hub. Our aim is to provide comprehensive training and development opportunities to our staff, fostering their growth within the NHS Primary Care community. Through this collaboration, we offer a diverse range of accessible training and development options, including:
- Health and well-being benefits, including funded access to the ShinyMind app, which offers daily support for well-being and resilience.
- Support from the Training Hub GP Workforce Leads.
