About the Role

Bildeston Health Centre are looking to welcome a part-time qualified dispenser to join our friendly and dedicated team on a part-time basis for 18 hours per week, working Monday and Friday, 8:30am – 6:30pm. There will also be the opportunity to work additional hours to cover sickness and annual leave.

Main responsibilities will include;
  • Dispensing drugs and appliances to patients as instructed by the GPs.
  • Ensuring that repeat medication requests are ready for collection 72hrs after request received.
  • Generating repeat prescription slips via system and ensure the correct medication is matched with each slip.
  • Ensuring each prescription item is labelled correctly and carries appropriate warnings and cautions.
  • Entering all relevant information on computer and maintain patient history of all drugs dispensed.
  • Ensuring all prescriptions are signed by the doctor and that the back of the form is completed correctly and signed by the patient or their representative.
  • Recording of all private prescriptions dispensed and keep an account of monies collected to be given to the dispensary manager as required.
  • Maintaining stock. 
  • Ensuring good communication with reception staff. 
  • Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.

About the Candidate

The ideal candidate will:
  • Hold a recognised dispensing qualification (e.g. NVQ2 or equivalent)
  • Have experience working in a GP practice or pharmacy setting
  • Be reliable, organised, and a strong team player
  • Have excellent communication and patient care skills
