About the Role

Saxmundham Health are looking for a GP partner or job share partners, to join the practice working 6-8 sessions a week.

We are currently two Partners with five salaried GPs working from 4 to 8 sessions a week. We employ our own in house experienced RMN to provide support for our patients with mental health needs, and a clinical care coordinator who has skilfully developed her own role, reaching out to support our most vulnerable patients - visiting them at home where appropriate. We have three advanced prescribing nurses one of whom is a dermoscopist with a Masters in Dermatology and a nurse consultant who has a specialist interest in both A&E and end of life care. We employ our own paramedic who has a PGCert in dementia and does most of the visits.

Our dispensary team work side by side with our in-house clinical pharmacist who leads the medicines management team to ensure patients receive an excellent service for their prescriptions including free home delivery using our practice electric car for our isolated and housebound patients.

We are a teaching and training practice with two trainers. We have hosted paramedic, nurse, and year 4 and 5 medical students this last year from local Universities and will also be teaching final year medical students from Cambridge next year. We have one GP trainee in post.

We have a new building at the late stages of planning approval and are poised to embrace and deliver on the NHS 10-year plan.

We aspire to being a Neighbourhood Hub offering a wide range of additional services including diagnostics, consultant clinics and local anaesthetic surgery.

We plan to serve our patients and those in the wider neighbourhood while integrating more effectively with social care and allied services. Our list size will increase following outline planning approval for 850 new houses so we are now looking to expand our team. The successful candidate(s) will work closely with the current partners, management, and wider clinical teams to support the highest quality care for our patients while playing a key part in developing the future vision.

Reconfiguring our appointment system has improved access and continuity, and has been well received by our patients. Responding to patient need is what we do and maybe this is why we were the most COVID vaccinated practice in England at the start of the pandemic.
