About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and pro-active care coordinator/receptionist to join the team based in Colne Medical Centre in Brightlingsea. The role is offered on a part-time basis for 16 hours a week.

You will be joining an enthusiastic team of clinicians, receptionists and administrators and will be well supported. The role will contribute to the improving quality of care of our patients across the network of practices.

Responsibilities will include (but not limited to):

Booking appointments
Greeting patients
Answering queries from patients and outside agencies and/or signposting to appropriate members of staff
Updating patient records
Processing correspondence
Liaising with patients using different types of communication methods

The successful applicant will need to have flexibility to cover other shifts as required.

About the Candidate

To be considered for the position, you will need the following;

A good standard of education including Maths and English
Experience of working and providing customer services
Reception experience desired.
Experience working within primary care would be an advantage, however this is not essential
Strong IT skills and be able to use computer based systems
Experience of EMIS would be desirable, however full training will be given to a suitable candidate.
Excellent communication skills both written and orally
Friendly and positive approach towards patients and other visitors either in person or over the telephone

The Colte Partnership is a GP partnership, formed in June 2017. It brought together 9 local GP surgeries across Colchester and Tendring, serving approx. 95,000 patients. With the combined workforce, skills and knowledge, we are in a unique position to assist our patients across the county.

As well as general practice, we offer Extended Access appointments to enable all of our patients to access medical care at evening and weekends; we work collaboratively with external agencies to provide in home services and Social Prescribing; we are working to be at the forefront of clinical research; and have many more exciting ventures on the horizon.
