About the Role

Ranworth Surgery located in Clacton, are looking to recruit an organised and professional receptionist on a part-time basis for 20 hours a week. The days and hours can be discussed at interview. 
 
Reporting to the senior receptionist, this busy role offers a wide range of reception and administrative duties and the provision of general support to the multidisciplinary team. 
 
Key responsibilities include:
 
  • Greeting and directing patients.
  • Carrying out patient registrations.
  • Booking appointments, maintaining and monitoring the appointment system. 
  • Processing of information (electronic and hard copy) and assisting patients as required.
  • Acting as a point of contact for patients, the distribution of information, messages and enquiries for the clinical team.
  • Liaising with multidisciplinary team members and external agencies such as secondary care and community service providers.

About the Candidate

To be considered for this role, you will have the following qualifications, experience and skills;
 
  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent. 
  • Excellent communication skills. 
  • Strong IT skills. 
  • Clear, polite telephone manner. 
  • Flexible and corporative.
  • Forward thinker. 
  • Experience of working with the general public desirable. 
  • Flexibility to work outside of core office hours on occasions. 
  • GP practice experience preferred, but not essential.
