About the Role

Would you like the opportunity to work in a busy practice on the edge of Northampton?

Woodview Medical Centre are looking for a full-time or part time salaried GP, (number of sessions negotiable) for our supportive practice.

The post-holder will provide high-quality, patient-centred primary care services to the practice population, managing a broad spectrum of health issues in a timely and efficient manner.

You will be working in modern purpose built premises with a pharmacy and dental surgery on site with dedicated doctors parking with full CCTV surveillance and near major roads.

Duties will include;
  • Provide general medical services in accordance with the GMS contract.
  • Conduct patient consultations, face-to-face, telephone, and the occasional home visit where appropriate.
  • Manage acute and chronic medical conditions.
  • Promote health education and preventative medicine.
  • Undertake clinical procedures within scope of competence.
  • Process laboratory results and hospital letters (which have been triaged to reduce to bare minimum)
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using SystmOne
  • Follow agreed protocols and guidelines (e.g. NICE).
  • Work collaboratively with GPs, nurses, allied health professionals, and administrative staff.
  • Participate in practice meetings, clinical audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Support supervision and training of medical students, registrars, or other staff if applicable.

About the Candidate

All applicants should have the following qualifications:
 
  • Fully qualified GP (MRCP or equivalent)
  • GMC registration with a licence to practise
  • Inclusion on the NHS performers list
  • Experience of working in UK general practice or equivalent setting
  • Experience of using SystmOne or other clinical systems
  • Experience of working in a multi disciplinary team
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in audit, quality improvement or service development
  • Enthusiasm for contributing to the development of the practice
  • Understanding of primary care and NHS structures
  • Commitment to patient-centred care
  • Awareness of safeguarding procedures
  • Knowledge of QOF, enhanced services, and CQC standards
