Dispenser

Flitwick Surgery has a great opportunity for a Dispenser to join our team on a part-time basis for 29 hours per week, working over 4 days. This is a 12 month contract position covering maternity leave.

We are looking for someone to join our busy dispensary team, to help make a positive impact on our local community. We would welcome applications from organised, adaptable, and friendly individuals, who are keen to help us provide high levels of customer service and have the following attributes:

• Applicant must hold a NVQ level 2 (or equivalent) in Dispensing Services as a minimum.
• Excellent attention to detail and levels of accuracy
• Excellent communication skills, with a clear and polite telephone manner.
• Ability to work in a polite, confidential and discreet manner, respecting patients at all times.
• Experience of working with the general public, being sensitive and empathic in distressing situations.
• Confidence to work as part of a team and independently with the ability to "think on your feet".

Flitwick is a busy dispensing practice, run as a partnership and serving a practice population of 14,250 patients. Our Dispensary team are able to dispense to approximately 25% of our total population. The clinical team consists of GPs, minor illness nurses, pharmacists, paramedics, practice nurses and HCAs. We are a training practice for GPs and also take part in medical research.  We are part of Green Vale Health PCN.

Due to our location in Flitwick, a commuter town in rural Bedfordshire, the practice population is diverse, covering patients of all life stages. We have good links to the A6 and M1.
