About the Role

At East Anglia's Children's Hospices (EACH), we support babies, children, young people and families across East Anglia through hospice care, wellbeing services and family support. We are looking for an experienced safeguarding professional to lead and develop safeguarding practice across our organisation.

This permanent role is offered on a part-time basis of 30 hours per week.  Although the role will require you to work across our 3 hospice locations (The Nook - Norwich, The Treehouse - Ipswich, and Milton - Cambridge), we would be grateful if you would specify your preferred EACH hospice work-base location in your application. This is an onsite role, with occasional hybrid working.

As safeguarding lead, you will provide organisation-wide leadership, advice and oversight to ensure safeguarding arrangements for children, young people and adults at risk remain effective, compliant and centred on best practice. You will work closely with care teams, managers, volunteers and external partners to promote a culture where safeguarding is everyone's responsibility.

The role includes:

  • Providing specialist safeguarding advice and support across the organisation.
  • Leading safeguarding case oversight, reviews, audits and quality improvement activity.
  • Developing and delivering safeguarding training for employees and volunteers.
  • Supporting compliance with safeguarding legislation, guidance and regulatory requirements.
  • Contributing to organisational safeguarding policies, procedures and governance reporting.
  • Working with multi-agency safeguarding partnerships and external stakeholders.
  • Providing strategic leadership alongside the executive safeguarding lead to support continuous improvement in safeguarding practice.

For further information, please see the attached job description.

Interviews will take place on 9th November 2026.

  • The ability to communicate complex information clearly and effectively with a wide range of audiences.
