About the Role
Ambrose Avenue Group Practice in Colchester are looking to recruit a clinical pharmacist to join our supportive clinical team on a full or part-time basis. Hours can be discussed at interview.
 
The pharmacist will work as part of a multidisciplinary team along with fellow pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. In a patient-facing role, the pharmacist will clinically assess and treat patients using expert knowledge of medicines for specific disease areas.
 
As a pharmacist, you will be entrusted with significant autonomy within your professional boundaries. Your role will be to provide crucial support to the GPs and the repeat prescribing team in all medicine management matters, to implement effective medicine management within the practice, and to identify areas for improvement.
 
Primary duties will include;
  • Structured medication reviews and optimisation.
  • Enhanced health in care homes service.
  • Anticipatory care.
  • Personalised care.
  • Supporting early cancer diagnosis.
  • Cardiovascular disease prevention and diagnosis.
  • Tackling inequalities locally.
About the Candidate
You will be a qualified pharmacist with strong experience within primary care and have the following skills, experience and qualifications:
  • GPhC registration.
  • Previous experience working within general practice.
  • Excellent organisational skills. 
  • Excellent communication skills. 
  • Confidence with IT systems. 
  • Strong commitment to personal and professional development.
  • Team player. 
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.

Ambrose Avenue Group Practice is a long-established, award-winning, forward-thinking GP practice. We are based over two surgery sites within 10 minutes of each other, serving the population of Stanway and Prettygate in Colchester, Essex.
