Dispensary Assistant

Longfield Medical Centre in Maldon have an exciting opportunity within our purpose-built dispensary centre. We are looking to recruit a permanent dispensary assistant to cover all areas of dispensary duties within our practice. This position is offered on a part-time basis, hours to be confirmed. 

• Receiving and processing prescription requests.
• Maintaining stock of drugs and related stationery.
• Ordering pharmaceutical stock.
• Security and the safe custody of medicines, including compliance with the law relating to controlled drugs.
• Maintaining a practical knowledge of the ‘Drug Tariff’ and endorsing prescriptions for the ‘Pricing Bureau’ at the end of each month.
• Checking and ensuring fee exemptions at the point of prescription collection.
• Respecting and adhering to the ‘Code of Confidentiality’ at all times.
• Daily reconciliation of the dispensary till and credit card terminal.
• Performing any other duties as requested to assist with the efficiency and smooth running of both the dispensary and practice.
