About the Role
Sidney House Surgery has an opportunity for an administrator to join our busy practice administration  team and assist in the smooth delivery of excellent patient care. This role is offered on a part-time basis for 15 hours a week with the working pattern to be discussed.
 
The main responsibilities of the role include:
  • Undertaking a variety of administrative duties including the provision of secretarial and clerical support to clinical staff and other members of the practice team.
  • Data entry and read coding of relevant patient information and medical data into the clinical system.
  • Scanning patient information into computerised records, including medical documents, hospital records and letters, as necessary.
  • Allocating workflow for review by doctors or other health professionals.
  • Dealing with referrals to primary care.
  • Processing practice post and emails.
  • Handling enquiries efficiently.
About the Candidate

  • An experienced administrator, with excellent IT, time management and organisational skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, working in a confidential and discreet manner.
  • Ability to work efficiently and maintain a high level of attention to detail, when under pressure.
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, as well as independently.
  • Primary care experience is desirable but not essential.

Flexibility is required as you will sometimes need to work additional or alternative hours to cover for colleagues.

It is essential that you are comfortable using IT and online and digital tools, and are prepared to adapt to developing healthcare technology.

About Us
We are a two-site training practice based in the semi-rural villages of Hatfield Peverel and Boreham, serving a patient population of 11,300. We are a SystmOne Practice with a consistently high QOF achievement and a CQC rating of Good.

We are part of the Aegros PCN with Lt. Waltham & Great Notley, Douglas Grove Surgery and the Beacon Health Group.

Our team is made up of three GP partners, five salaried GPs, a paramedic practitioner, a nurse prescriber, practice nurses and HCAs, a phlebotomist and dispensers. We are further supported by PCN staff including a pharmacist and physiotherapist. Additionally we have a well established non-clinical team of managers, administrators, dispensers and receptionists.
