About the Role
Hardwicke House Group Practice located in Sudbury are looking for a newly qualified GP under the Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme (ARRS), to join our team on a 12 month fixed term contract for 4 sessions per week.
The successful candidate will benefit from working as part of a supportive and positive practice team, in addition to the help and guidance we provide to our own colleagues, we are a training practice and regularly host trainee placements.
 
In this role, you will have the opportunity to support and care for a diverse patient groupThe role will include all general duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care, as well as:
 
  • Undertaking a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork, reports and correspondence in a timely fashion.
  • Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting medical problems, whether self-referred or referred from other healthcare workers within the organisation.
  • Assessing the healthcare needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
  • Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
  • Developing care plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols.
  • Providing health education.
  • Recording clear consultation notes to agreed standards.
  • Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions.
About the Candidate

To be eligible for this ARRS-funded position, candidates must meet the following criteria;

  • Registration and certification included in the NHSE list of Medical Practitioners per section 91 of the NHS Act 2006
  • Hold full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) on the General Practitioner Register.
  • Be a Newly Qualified GP having obtained your Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in General Practice within the last two years, verifying completion of the postgraduate training required to practice independently.
About Us
We operate across four surgery sites and overall we employ over 80 staff. We have 7 partner GPs, 6 associate GPs, 2 advanced nurse practitioners, 2 PCN community paramedics and a well-established nursing team. We also benefit from PCN clinical pharmacists, a pharmacy technician, first contact physios and a team of social prescribers and care coordinators.
