About the Role
Haverhill Family Practice are looking to welcome a receptionist/care navigator to join our friendly team on a part-time basis for 20 hours per week, working Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, 1pm - 6pm.
 
This busy role is to assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way, whilst providing general assistance to the practice team. 
 
Other duties will include;
  • Welcoming patients via telephone or face to face.
  • Answering incoming calls in a prompt, friendly efficient manner.
  • Booking of appointments.
  • Arranging home visit requests.
  • Signposting patients to the correct clinician.
  • Receiving and processing daily e-consults from patients.
  • Handing repeat prescription/med3 requests.
  • Registering new patients.
  • Liaising with members of practice team.
  • Managing out-going correspondence.
  • Updating patient demographics.
  • General administration duties.

 

 

About the Candidate
The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated team player who has customer service/patient experience, offers excellent communication skills, and has the following attributes:
  • Flexible and adaptable to changes within the role and to be able to work as part of a team and to use your initiative.
  • Be able to work under pressure at busy times and multi-task.
  • Ability to work in a polite, confidential and discreet manner, respecting patients and colleagues at all times.
  • Experience of working with the general public, being sensitive and empathic in distressing situations.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
