About the Role

Unity Healthcare have an exciting opportunity for a pharmacy technician to join our well-established clinical practice pharmacy team as part of our Primary Care Network. This is a permanent position with full or part-time hours considered - a minimum of 18 hours per week.

You will be working from our centralised hub in Haverhill, where most of the clinical workload is triaged with telephone and virtual consultations, and will have the opportunity to work across other Unity sites including Clements site in Haverhill, Long Melford and Lavenham.

What is the role?

  • You will be part of the practice pharmacy team with a positive, patient focussed supportive culture which transfers work from GPs.
  • Undertake medicines reconciliation to patients recently discharged from hospital and ensure the patient’s medical record is updated accordingly.
  • Respond to medication queries including acute medication requests, patient medication queries or any medication related issue triaged by GP practice team to the pharmacy technician appointment list.
  • Undertake Econsult (electronic online triage system) administration queries.
We will work alongside the successful candidate to ensure they are sufficiently inducted and trained; there will be regular constructive supervision in place. It is important to us that you feel safe and supported in the role.

About the Candidate

To be considered for this position, you will have the following;
  • Registered as a pharmacy technician with the GPhC
  • Caring and empathetic nature
  • Appreciation of the nature of GPs and general practices and good interpersonal, influencing and negotiating skills
  • Enthusiastic, motivated and wanting to offer the very best up to date patient care
  • Work well as part of a team as well as independently
  • You’ll need to be able to pick up new IT systems with supportive training
