Healthcare Assistant/Phlebotomist

GP Primary Choice are excited to have a position for a healthcare assistant/phlebotomist to join our team in Clacton. Hours are flexible but we would be looking for the successful applicant to work between 30 and 37.5 hours per week. Working in the diagnostic and screening team, there are a number of key services linked to this role making it a varied and challenging which could change daily depending on demand.

Main duties will include;

• Provide a telephone screening assessment as part of a regional Target Lung Health Check Screening campaign.
• Provide phlebotomy services from a number of locations in Colchester and Tendring.
• Fit ECG monitors to patients as part of a diagnostic service.
• Support the set up and running of dermoscopic skin lesion service. 
• Perform health checks.
• Attend regular meetings to support the delivery of projects. 
• Chaperoning patients. 

• Experience of working in a healthcare setting.
• Ability to record accurate clinical notes.
• Phlebotomy certification.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral).
• Strong IT skills.
• Competent in the use of patient record management systems: SystmOne.
• Ability to work as a team member and autonomously.
