About the Role

Hoveton and Wroxham Medical Centre is looking to recruit a nurse to join our multi-disciplinary team. We are happy to consider applicants with no primary care experience.
The role is offered on a part-time basis for 20 hours each week, working on a Wednesday and a Thursday. This will involve an early start on Thursday at 6.45am and may also involve late finish, 8pm and some Saturday working. 

Some of the responsibilities of this role include:

  • Undertaking health assessments, administering medication and treatments, and performing diagnostic tests.
  • Providing and evaluating a range of health interventions to ensure that patients’ health and social care needs are met.
  • General health and well-being promotion as well as creating individual, person-centred plans for patients with, or at risk of, a long term condition.
  • Supporting and managing the health needs of women presenting for sexual health, HRT, contraception, and cervical cytology consultations.
  • Implementing, and participating in, vaccination and immunisation programmes for both adults and children, including patients travelling abroad.
  • Meeting the needs of patients presenting for opportunistic wound care.
  • Supporting the practice in obtaining QOF, IIF and other quality targets.

About the Candidate

All applicants should have the following qualifications, registrations:
  • A relevant nursing qualification
  • Current NMC registration with an active PIN.
  • At least 1 year post registration experience of nursing
  • Insight and understanding of current issues in nursing and the wider NHS.
  • We're looking for a dynamic nurse. someone who will embrace the role of a practice nurse and make it their own.
  • Participate in annual appraisal and quarterly "check ins"
  • Undertake mandatory training and keep up to date with changes in your area of practice
