About the Role

Ranworth PCN are seeking a GP assistant to work across the surgeries within our PCN on a part-time, permanent basis for 15 hours per week, working across 2 days. 
This position within the team is responsible for assisting the GPs in the smooth running of clinics, carrying out clinical and administration tasks. The role would suit someone who has previously worked as a healthcare assistant within primary care as there are many clinical duties
 
Main responsibilities include; 
  • Dipping urine, taking blood pressure, ECGs and phlebotomy
  • Supporting the GP with immunisations/wound care
  • Explaining treatment procedures to patients
  • Assisting the GP to liaise with outside agencies, eg on call doctor 
  • Preparing patients prior to going in to see the GP, taking a brief history and basic readings in readiness for the GP appointment
  • Sorting post
  • Arranging appointments, referrals, tests etc 
  • Coding clinical letters

About the Candidate

If you have experience working within a healthcare environment and are capable of carrying out the above duties, we would encourage you to apply.  Other qualifications and skills required include:
  • Healthcare qualification level 3/4 or working towards
  • Phlebotomy and ear syringing certification desirable
  • Clinical skills experience including wound care, ECGs, venepuncture 
  • IT skills, including experience of working with a clinical system
  • Excellent communication skills and a friendly manner
  • Ability to multi-task and to work accurately under pressure
  • Ability to work in a team as well as being comfortable working independently

Ranworth Primary Care Network, is comprised of Caradoc Surgery, Ranworth Surgery in Clacton-on-Sea, Green Elms Health Centre in Jaywick and Kennedy Way Medical Centre in Holland on Sea. We have a diverse patient population, of around 32,000 and all practices work on SystmOne.
