Healthcare Assistant

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and pro-active health care assistant to join the team based at Mersea Island Medical Practice. The position is offered on a part-time basis for 20 hours per week. 

Our GP’s, nurses and clinical teams don’t exist in isolation. For effective patient care we need a strong and supportive clinical team, who keep each branch operating at its best and most efficient. 

The role of a health care assistant is critical to the smooth day to day running of the practice.

Duties will include;

• Phlebotomy, ECG’s, immunisations
• Wound care for patients
• Conducting foot checks for diabetes

This list is not exhaustive and may be subject to change at request of the operations manager and GP partners. 

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and pro-active health care assistant.  The ideal candidate would have the following;

• Diploma in Health and Social Care Level 2
• Experience of working with, and building up working relationships with GP’s, nursing and administration staff
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
• Ability to work well on their own as well as working in a team
• Strong understanding of confidentiality
