An exciting opportunity has arisen for a caring, enthusiastic, and highly motivated Health care Assistant to join our team at Wells Health Centre.
We are seeking a part-time Health Care Assistant to join our busy team - this role is for 27 hours over four days.
This is a varied and challenging role where clinical supervision and opportunities for training and development is provided by a supportive team.
A caring nature is essential, along with the willingness to communicate effectively with our patients and maintain a professional manner whilstworking in a busy environment.
The successful candidate will be flexible in approach; able to share their skills and talents as part of a team; be fast and keen to learn new skills and confident to make and communicate decisions.
The successful candidate will have experience of working in a Primary Care Setting but must be competent in phlebotomy and health care assistant duties as well as be able to carry out patient vital sign observations.
Job Responsibilities:
- Phlebotomy
- Measurements of height, weight, and BMI
- Urinalysis
- Measurement of blood pressure, temperature, and pulse
- Diabetic foot checks
- Simple dressings
- NHS Health checks
- NHS New Patient Checks
- Assist clinicians in emergency management of patients
- Provide relevant health promotion literature for patients
- Deal with pathological specimens. Check forms are correctly completed. Arrange for specimens to be sent to the path lab and record details of what was sent
- Follow infection control standards
- Ensure clinical rooms are well stocked and compliant
- Contribute new ideas to improve patient care
- Attend educational training courses that relate to your job and the objectives of the federation, when requested
