About the Role

The De Parys Group is a large, ambitious and forward-thinking primary care organisation, delivering services across multiple clinical sites. We are committed to providing high-quality, patient-centred care while continually improving how we work.

Our teams are collaborative, supportive and focused on development. We actively invest in our people, creating opportunities to grow skills, take on new challenges and progress into leadership roles. This is an environment where your ideas are welcomed and where you can make a real difference to how services are delivered.

We are looking for an experienced and motivated medical secretary team leader to join our busy and supportive team on a 18 month fixed term contract. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled medical secretary who is ready to take the next step into a leadership role, or for an existing team leader looking to further develop their skills within a large and evolving organisation.

Our medical secretaries play a vital role in supporting clinicians and ensuring patients receive timely, safe and high-quality care. As team leader, you will combine hands-on operational work with day-to-day leadership of the team. You will support the smooth running of referral management, private work and advice and guidance processes, while also developing and supporting colleagues to deliver a consistently high standard of service.

Key responsibilities include;

  • Leading and supporting a team of medical secretaries supported by the medical secretary manager
  • Overseeing referral workflows, including routine, urgent and 2WW referrals
  • Managing private work processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and appropriate charging
  • Supporting the handling of advice and guidance requests and ensuring appropriate follow-up
  • Providing training, coaching and day-to-day support to team members
  • Working closely with clinicians and operational managers to continuously improve processes

About the Candidate

To be considered for the position, you will need the following;
    • Strong experience as a medical secretary within primary care
    • Confident in managing referrals, private work and advice and guidance processes
    • Experience of supporting, training or supervising colleagues
    • Highly organised, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a busy environment
    • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality patient care
    • Confident communicator, able to work effectively with both clinical and non-clinical colleagues
    • Proactive and solution-focused, with a desire to improve ways of working
