Are you a qualified counsellor or psychotherapist with relevant experience of working therapeutically with children and young people, and confidence supporting families experiencing grief, trauma and emotional distress?
East Anglia's Children's Hospice (EACH) are looking for a compassionate and skilled full-time Child and Young person Counsellor to join our care team at The Treehouse Hospice. This role provides therapeutic support to children and young people, and their families, living with severe medical complexity, life‑threatening or life‑shortening conditions, as well as those experiencing anticipatory grief, trauma and bereavement.
Duties will include;
- Provide counselling to children, young people and families affected by illness, trauma, loss and bereavement
- Manage a varied clinical caseload
- Complete comprehensive assessments, formulations, risk assessments and regular reviews
- Deliver individual, group and family therapeutic interventions
- Work collaboratively with multi‑agency partners including schools, health and community services
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical records using approved systems
- Provide pre‑ and post‑bereavement counselling and psychoeducation
- Support families with key decision‑making, memory making and end‑of‑life planning
- Contribute to therapeutic groups, workshops, training and organisation‑wide events
You will have the ability/willingness to work across hospice, community and education settings with a full current full, valid driving license and access to own vehicle is required.
Please note: Interviews will take place on 11th June 2026 at the Nook Hospice. Successful applicants will be invited for a tour of the Treehouse hospice on a separate date.
