About the Role

Thorpe Doctors Surgery in Thorpe-le-Soken, Clacton-on-Sea, is looking to recruit a new Care Navigator to join our team on a part-time basis for 30 hours per week. The successful candidate will work 6 hour shifts, Monday to Friday, across our 2 practices, Thorpe and Kirby Surgery. The shifts will be either 08.00 - 14.00 or 12.30 - 18.30.

You will be working in a very busy and quite often demanding environment carrying out the following;
 
  • Answering telephone calls
  • Making appointments
  • Scanning letters
  • Meeting and greeting patients
  • General administration
A key element of this role is to navigate patients to the appropriate service. 

About the Candidate

To be considered for this position, you will need the following skills and experience: 
  • A good telephone manner is essential
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Be able to work under pressure
  • Previous experience of working in primary care and knowledge of EMIS web would be desirable but not essential as full training will be given
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Office and electronic record systems
  • Ability to assess needs and signpost people to appropriate services
  • Accurate record keeping and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage a varied enquires
  • Good problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Flexibility is a priority to cover additional hours during holiday/sickness absence of colleagues to keep the Surgery running efficiently
