The Writtle Surgery has a fantastic opportunity for a healthcare assistant to join our our close-knit, friendly team on a part-time basis, for 2 - 3 days per week. This role is offered on a one-year fixed term contract, to cover maternity leave. Reporting to the lead nurse you will be working with a team of 3 practice nurses in a supportive and caring environment and will be able to apply clinical skills and knowledge to carry out high quality practice within designated clinical areas, such as:
- new patient health checks and NHS health checks,
- restocking and stock rotation of surgical equipment and vaccines,
- clearing and restocking of consultation rooms,
- preparing and maintaining clinical rooms and equipment before, during and after patient care interventions, including assisting GPs during the performance of minor operations, coil insertion/removals and contraceptive implant insertion/removals,
- providing valuable health promotion and education for patients, their families, and carers.
- supporting the team to ensure that regular equipment checks/water temperatures are undertaken.
