About the Role

Longfield Medical Centre is looking for a professional healthcare navigator to join our growing team. As a healthcare navigator, you will excel in providing first-rate customer care & have great interpersonal skills at the front desk & on the telephone. You must be able to work flexibly in a team of healthcare navigators, on a rota basis, to cover surgery opening hours & to provide holiday & sickness cover, as needed, on an overtime basis.  Shift pattern yet to be finalised.

Our healthcare navigator will:

  • be a team-player with excellent communication skills, telephone manner
  • have the ability to work under pressure
  • be the first point of contact for all visitors to the practice
  • be expected to follow the practice mission statement of always aiming to provide high quality primary care services through an ethos of continuous learning & reflection
  • always be expected to be professional, helpful and understanding of our patients needs

The main responsibilities of the role include:

  • Answering the telephone
  • Managing the Patchs (online triage) requests
  • Dealing with all enquiries from patients attending the surgery
  • Booking & cancelling appointments
  • Recording home visit requests
  • Tidying up waiting area & clinicians’ rooms
  • Filing of notes, correspondence, results, etc
  • Taking results via the telephone from hospitals
  • Chaperoning for patients when necessary
  • Using SystmOne to send internal tasks, access patient records, send internal external messages, write patient correspondence etc
About the Candidate
We are looking for a receptionist to join our busy practice team and help make a positive impact on our local community. We would welcome applications from organised, adaptable, and friendly individuals, who are keen to help us provide high levels of customer service and have the following attributes:
  • Strong inter-personal and prioritisation skills.
  • Committed to delivering a quality service, a team player and proactively identify continuous improvement opportunities and implement them.
  • Plan ahead and respond to changes and understand the impact that these changes can have on the overall service delivery of the practice.
  • Engage effectively and handle interactions with a wide range of stakeholders and be comfortable with providing advice and support.
  • General practice and SystmOne experience is preferable.
