About the Role
Vida Healthcare are looking to welcome a surgical services coordinator to work at their Gayton Road Health Centre on a part-time basis for 20 hours per week. Working for the Ophthalmology speciality you will report to the senior management team, partners and visiting surgeons. 
 
The purpose of the role will be to provide safe and efficient care for patients undergoing outpatient surgical procedures and post-operative care. 
 
Responsibilities will include;
  • Assess, plan, and evaluate patient care for all surgical cases.
  •  Support clinicians and the theatre team to ensure high standards of patient care.
  • Prepare for and assist in surgical lists.
  • Clean and maintain theatre and equipment.
  • Sterilise instruments according to protocol.
  • Communicate effectively within the surgical unit and with administrative teams.
  • Supervise and evaluate staff performance.
  • Oversee adherence to appointment systems and theatre scheduling.
  • Maintain accurate theatre and patient records.

About the Candidate

The ideal applicant will have the following skills, experience and qualifications:

  • RGN/ODP (essential).
  • Significant theatre experience required, ideally in cataract surgery.
  • ENB998 - teaching and assessing in clinical practice programme.(desirable)
