About the Role

Ambrose Avenue Group are seeking an enthusiastic, experienced, reliable, and motivated medical receptionist to join our growing team.

As a medical receptionist, you will excel in providing exceptional customer care and possess excellent interpersonal skills, both at the front desk and over the phone. You must be able to work flexibly as part of a team of receptionists on a rota basis to cover surgery opening hours, as well as provide holiday and sickness cover on an overtime basis.

The main responsibilities of this role include:

  • Checking in patients and answering phone calls.
  • Booking and cancelling appointments either by telephone or through our online platform, Anima.
  • Addressing non-clinical inquiries and recording requests, such as home visit arrangements.
  • Managing tasks and contacting patients regarding their results as instructed by clinicians.
  • Attending meetings and providing chaperone services for patients when necessary.

  • Being a team player with strong communication skills.
  • A pleasant telephone manner, and the ability to work under pressure is essential.
  • A commitment to delivering quality service, along with being a team player who proactively identifies and implements opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • You should be able to plan ahead, respond to changes effectively, and understand how these changes impact the overall service delivery of the practice.
  • Engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders and feel comfortable providing advice.
