About the Role

Kingswood Medical Centre are looking to recruit an experienced advanced nurse practitioner to deliver outstanding patient care. This position is offered on a part-time basis, working Tuesday to Friday, 25-30 hours a week which can be negotiable for the right candidate. This role will commence in December.
As a vital part of our multidisciplinary team, you will have the opportunity to support and care for a diverse patient group.
 
The main responsibilities of the role will include:
  • Delivering a high standard of patient care, using advanced autonomous clinical skills, and a broad and in-depth theoretical knowledge base.
  • Assessing, diagnosing and treating patients’ conditions, initiating direct referrals as appropriate.
  • Independent prescriber: prescribing safe, effective and appropriate medication as defined by current legislative frame work.
 
Whether you have already developed a specific specialty or have an interest in doing so, we will support your ongoing career and training development.

About the Candidate

To be considered for this position you will have the following qualifications, skills and experience: 

  • Registered General Practice Nurse (currently registered with the NMC).
  • Hold a recognised ANP qualification at Masters level and work as an independent nurse prescriber. You will be able to work with a high degree of autonomy and be confident in leading in a variety of settings.
  • Forward thinking and strive to develop innovative ideas and new ways of working, that address the health needs of the practice, whilst motivating and encouraging others to do the same.
  • Excellent communicator and collaborator, you will embrace opportunities to work and liaise across multi-professional and agency boundaries in the interests of improving patient outcomes.
  • In addition to your highly developed clinical skills, your approach in the role will be consistently compassionate and respectful placing a high value on the dignity of patients, relatives, carers and colleagues.
  • Experience in primary care and have worked in a GP practice essential.

About Us

We are a GMS non-dispensing practice and look after approximately 10,500 patients with a growing list size and lucky to operate from modern purpose build premises. We are part of Mid and South Essex ICB, and West Basildon Primary Care Network (PCN). The practice is committed to delivering high quality patient care which requires us to have a supportive and cohesive team. We are incredibly proud of how we provide care for our patients. We are rated as CQC Good and are a high QOF achieving practice.

Our team consists of 2 GP Partners supported by 6 salaried GPs. In addition to our doctors, we have other clinicians working for the practice : ANPs, practice nurses, HCAs, and also a variety of support staff from our PCN consisting of Pharmacists, MH practitioners and home visiting service.

The clinical staff are supported by our admin team including care navigators, secretaries, workflow and prescriptions clerk. We are a SystemOne practice and hold regular clinical and practice staff meetings. We are committed to delivering a high standard of care to our patients with both our clinical and non-clinical staff being an essential part of this.
