PCN Paramedic

South Rural Primary Care Network, (PCN), has an exciting opportunity for a hardworking and enthusiastic paramedic to join their team on a full or part-time basis. This position is offered on a permanent contract and will be based across the East Bergholt and Capel St Mary sites.   The position may also involve travel to other sites within the organisation.

• Working from the surgery and within communities as an autonomous practitioner caring for patients and families.
• Managing and treating patients presenting with minor illness.
• Treating patients wishing to see a health care professional, making any necessary referrals to other members of the primary health care team.
• Undertaking assessment for patients within the community and those attending the surgery, using diagnostic skills and initiation of investigations where appropriate.
• Advising patients on general health care and minor ailments, with referral to other members of the primary and secondary health care team as necessary.
• Attending and participating in practice meetings as required.

• Be a registered paramedic educated to degree/diploma level or equivalent. 
• Clinical skills qualifications or evidence of equivalent experience. 
• 2 years (or equivalent) consolidation of learning period completed as a newly qualified paramedic. 
• A further 3 years experience as a band 6 (or equivalent) paramedic. 
• Management of patients with common acute medical conditions.  

• Management of patients with complex needs. 
• Experience of preventative medicine and chronic disease management. 
• Recent experience of working in UK general practice.
