About the Role

New River Health have an exciting opportunity for a practice manager to join us on a full-time basis for 37.5 hours a week, across both our sites.

The purpose of the role is to oversee the delivery of patient care, operational and strategic management of the practice. This includes responsibility for project management, human resources, service delivery and performance management as well as ensuring the financial viability of the practice. It is a pivotal role within the organisation and will be expected to support the team in achieving goals and targets, using a combination of personal involvement, motivation of other staff and delegation where appropriate. The main responsibilities of the role include: 
  • Contribute to practice strategy.
  • Monitor and evaluate performance of the practice team against objectives; identify and manage change.
  • Develop and maintain effective communication both within the practice and with relevant outside agencies.
  • Oversee practice accounts.
  • Manage practice budgets and seek to maximise income.
  • Prepare bids for new resources.
  • Overall responsibility for recruitment and retention of staff.
  • Oversee meeting schedules.
  • Adopt a strategic approach to the development and management of patient services.
  • Ensure service development and delivery is in accordance with local and national guidelines.
  • Plan and support the delivery of IT system changes for the practice.

About the Candidate

You will have the following: 
 
Essential: 
  • Experience of commitment to continuing professional development. 
  • Experience of managing people, working in teams and promoting teamwork. 
  • Planning and prioritising. 
  • Demonstrate robust leadership and communication skills and have strong HR and organisational abilities.
  • Strong IT skills. 
  • Good time management. 
  • Proactive and enthusiastic. 
Desirable: 
  • Degree level qualification or equivalent. 
  • Relevant finance or management qualification. 
  • Experience of working with regulatory bodies.
  • Project management experience. 
  • Experience of change management.

We are a well-established GP training practice that is focussed on patient care, and together as a dedicated team, strive for the best to provide the highest standard of healthcare to our patients. We have a list size of 19,000 and operate from two sites following merger in 2020.
